Think it, I make it. Tell me the awkward idea nobody else would take on.
Some jobs do not fit a category. A one-off tool, an odd little app, a thing you have described three times and been told is too small to bother with.

- Anyone with an idea that fits no category and has been told it is too small, too odd or not worth the trouble.
- Not a fit
- If you already know exactly what you want built and it fits one of the other five, start there instead — it will be cheaper.
Small is fine
There is no minimum worth bothering with. Some of the most useful things I have built took two days and replaced something somebody had been doing by hand for years.
If it is genuinely a two-hour job, I will say so and charge for two hours, rather than finding a way to make it a project.
You get a straight answer first
Before anything is quoted I will tell you whether it is worth building at all, and whether there is a cheaper way to get the same result — including a way that does not involve me.
That conversation costs nothing. I would rather talk you out of a bad idea than take the money and watch it not work.

- 04 Build and hand over Quick, shown to you early, and yours at the end.
Where I have done this
Straight answers
- Is my idea too small?
- Probably not. Small jobs are the ones most people turn down, which is exactly why they are worth taking.
- What if you think it is a bad idea?
- I will tell you, and say why. You are free to disagree, and I will build it anyway if you still want it — but you will have heard the argument first.
- Can you take over something half-built?
- Sometimes. It depends what state it is in. I will look at it and give you an honest answer about whether finishing it is cheaper than restarting.
